# Atlas Name Change Policy

**Name change** refers to r**eplacing the originally booked passenger with a different passenger.**

This is **distinct from a name correction**, which covers minor typographical errors (e.g. spelling mistakes) and does not involve changing the passenger’s identity.

#### Atlas Name Change Policy: Not Supported

Atlas **does not support name change requests**. The reasons for this are:

* Name changes are **restricted by most airlines**
* Approval is **fully airline-controlled** and varies by fare rules
* Many airlines treat name changes as a **ticket reissue or cancellation** rather than a modification
* Handling name changes within Atlas introduces **operational, compliance, and ticketing risk**

**Recommendation**

If a passenger needs to be replaced with another individual, you should:

* **Contact the airline directly** via airline direct B2C or B2B channels
* Review the airline’s fare rules and name change policy
* Be prepared for reissuance, additional fees, or denial depending on airline rules

Any name change approved by the airline will be handled **outside of Atlas**.
