# AirAsia Thailand (FD) Overbooking Policy Update

{% hint style="info" %}
This announcement is relevant to Travel Sellers currently distributing AirAsia Thailand (FD) content.
{% endhint %}

AirAsia Thailand (FD) has updated its Terms and Conditions to include an overbooking policy, in line with local regulatory requirements. Travel Sellers distributing FD flights are required to communicate and display this information to customers.

#### What the Policy Covers

Like many airlines worldwide, AirAsia may occasionally accept more bookings than available seats. In the rare event a passenger with a confirmed booking is unable to board:

* Domestic flights within Thailand: Passenger rights are handled in accordance with regulations issued by the Thai Ministry of Transport.
* International flights: AirAsia may offer rebooking on the next available FD flight at no additional cost, travel credit for future use, or a full refund if the passenger chooses not to travel.
* Flights departing from or connecting through Mainland China: AirAsia will first seek volunteers before any involuntary denied boarding, with priority given to certain passenger groups (urgent business travellers, seniors, passengers with disabilities, pregnant passengers, unaccompanied minors with advance notice, and passengers with tight onward connections).

Passengers involuntarily denied boarding may be eligible for compensation in accordance with applicable laws and AirAsia's policy. Compensation exclusions apply — refer to the full policy for details.
